Dal Kofta

Leftover Ingredient- Dal


Kofta

- Dal (arhar, moong etc stored in one touch bowl)- 1 Tropical Twin
- Besan- 6tbsp
- Red chilli powder-1/2tsp
- Ajwain-1/2tsp
- Salt-1 tsp
- Oil for frying

Curry

- Tomato-1 medium
- Tomato puree- ½ Tropical Twin
- Onion- 1 small
- Ginger- 1tsp( chopped)
- Garlic- 1tsp( chopped)
- Red chilli- 1tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1tsp
- Coriander powder- 1tsp
- Turmeric powder- itsp
- Kasoori methi- ½ tsp
- Salt to taste


Kofta

1. Mix dal, besan, red chili powder, ajwain and salt to form a dough without adding any water.
2. Divide the dough into equal portions to make small walnut sized balls and pan fry them in Ultimo Chef series Pan till golden brown. Keep aside when done.


Curry

1. Chop onion and tomatoes in Tupperware Smart Chopper and keep aside. Add 1 tsp of oil from Tupperware Magic Flow in Ultimo Chef Series frying pan, add cumin seeds, chopped onions and sauté till translucent.
2. Add chopped tomatoes, ginger, garlic, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and mix well. Add tomato puree and let the mixture cook till it leaves the sides of the pan. Add a little water if the mixture is too thick.
3. Add kasoori methi and salt to taste and let it cook for another minute.
4. Add the koftas to the curry and let it simmer for a few minutes.
5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with Chapatti/parantha

 Variations- Any leftover dal can be used to make koftas.Give the curry a south Indian twist by adding a tsp of smabhar powder and some kadi patta.
